Obituary
Samuel Edward Benson, Jr. lost his fight from Parkinson’s Disease on September 15,2023. He passed peacefully at McAllen Medical Center with his wife and children present. Sam was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on June 2, 1941 to Samuel Edward Benson Sr and Timotea Duenes de Benson.
Sam was a retired businessman having owned Star Jewelry in downtown McAllen for over 50 years. Sam and his wife loved to travel and go out dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Debbi Henry-Benson and his children, Samuel Edward Benson, III (Adriana), Samuel Eric Benson, and Samantha Elayne Benson Lopez (Marco) and two grandchildren Adriana J. Munoz (Marc) and Lucy Marie Lopez.
Benson family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm with a memorial service at 6pm with deacon Jose Peralez, III. to officiate.
