Maria Dolores "Lola" Villarreal

Maria Dolores “Lola” Villarreal passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 surrounded by her children at her daughter’s residence in San Juan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Antonio Villarreal, Sr.; mother, Hermila Rodriguez; father, Felipe Garza; and brothers, Eludio “Lulu” Baldemar Garza and Calixtro Felipe Garza.

Ms. Villarreal is survived by her children, Juan Antonio Villarreal, Jr., Blanca Hermila Villarreal Aguayo, Mary Lourdes “Mary Lou” Baker (Wayne), Sonia Villarreal, Thelma Villarreal (Efrain Fonseca), Veronica Caballero (Alfredo), and Bianca Marie Villarreal; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Concepcion Garza (Juanita); sister-in-law, Blanca Aleman; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm with Legion of Mary reciting the rosary at 7pm, at De Leon Funeral Home of Pharr. An extra ordinary traditional latin mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. Jude Catholic Church 505 S. Ironwood St. in Pharr. Interment will follow at Magic Valley Cemetery in south Pharr.
