Erineo F. Ramos Obituary
Erineo “Neo” Ramos, 93 years old was born on October 20th, 1931. He earned his wings peacefully on April 16th at 8:00am at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Tx.
Neo was born to Pedro and Ester Ramos and was a resident of San Juan, Tx. As the oldest of 11 siblings, he had to help his father with agriculture and farming which he loved. He attended Valley View School in Hidalgo up to 5th grade. He worked at Ray’s Glass where he learned all about the glass business and eventually in 1973 he opened his own “Ramos Glass & Mirror” shop. His son Randy still operates it and his other son John opened “Hurricane Doors & Window” in Port Isabel.
He loved spending time with his family taking them out to picnics, parks, beach and of course migrating up north to work in the fields which he would tell us we were going on a long vacation! His favorite pastime was with his family taking us on boat rides at Anzaldua’s Park.
Neo loved to fish, hunt, BBQ and enjoyed telling stories of his life. He had a great sense of humor and was very generous to anyone that needed help. Among his many hobbies he enjoyed restoring old rusted tractors and making them new again. He belonged to a “Tractor Club” where they would meet weekly to exchange tractor parts. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of St. Annes Church in Pharr.
Neo is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Ester Ramos, 4 siblings-Macario, Bernardino, Anastasia, and Eustolia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Juanita Lopez Ramos of McAllen, Tx.
