Eduardo Joel Alaniz Obituary
Eduardo Joel Alaniz, age 58, father to one, and someone who deeply cherished life, his family, friends, students and colleagues passed in the evening of July 10th, 2022 from his battle with liver cancer. Born to Glafiro Alaniz and Idolina Pinon in December of 1963, into a family that at max grew to a total of 9 children in deep south Texas. He was an individual that exemplified the idea you could not keep a good man down. Those that knew him could speak to that good, genuine, and caring nature he had for others. From working in the civil sector to expanding into the education system and even eventually breaking into being an administrator for a lengthy career in education as a Principal, one thing was clear. It was always his mission to help shape the generations of the future and try and make things better for those around him and the community. Through the many conversations I had with him, he demonstrated just how much his students and colleagues meant to him. He only wanted to help and push his kids to succeed, to not fall victim to themselves, to be able to build and acknowledge their personal value and to show that even if people write you off with a label. You can always be capable of great things - you just needed to push past the negatives of life that can come to shackle and bring us down.
He is survived by 7 of his brothers and sisters, Idolina (Sandy) Ponce, Janie (Roy) Lopez, Dora (Jorge) Rodriguez, Ricardo (Josie) Alaniz, Jose Angel (Rosa) Alaniz, Alberto Rolando (Alicia) Alaniz as well as his only child, Joel Alaniz & his son's mother Regina Ann Alaniz and who will now being joining both his parents and his brother, Armando (Janie) Alaniz and sister, Rosalinda Alaniz in paradise. To his friends, students, colleagues and any other whom my father included in his life. Know that he cared for each and every one of you. Truly, and wholeheartedly. In the ways that are usually left to the romantics and visionaries.
