Baldemar Vela, 86, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rita Vela.
Mr. Vela is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Vela; children, Danny Vela, David Vela, Maria Vela, Baldemar Vela Jr., and Juan Pablo Vela; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Evangelina Nuncio; and brothers, Ricardo Vela, Tomas Vela, and Juan Vela.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm with a 7pm rosary on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at De Leon Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at De Leon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
